I'm Ashutosh Makwana.
In December 2025, something shifted.
Karpathy called it a "phase shift." Anthropic says 90% of their code is now AI-written. The engineers who'll matter aren't the ones who type fastest — they're the ones who can tell when AI is confidently heading in the wrong direction.
The fastest-growing product in history launched in November 2022. I've been shipping AI-native systems since.
10+ years full-stack. Not "mobile guy." Not "AI guy."
The engineer who ships production AI — and knows when to override it.
I learned this building HECCO.
Aman and Prem started HECCO. I came in to build the tech — and ended up architecting the entire platform.
Three people. An Expo app on both stores. A TypeScript backend. A Python AI service powering voice agents, health document processing, and clinical tools with function calling. The kind of system a conventional team would staff 15 engineers and 18 months for.
We did it in nine months. AI-native from day one — 90% of the code was AI-generated.
But here's what nobody tells you about AI-generated code: writing it is the easy part. The real work starts when you deploy. Schema migrations that don't lose data. Auth flows that don't leak tokens. Voice agents that handle silence, interruptions, and bad network — not just the happy path. Production doesn't care how fast you wrote it.
PRDs, investor meetings, learning what non-technical people actually hear when you say "AI" — and what separates a moat from a wrapper. That was the other education.
HECCO is live. App Store. Play Store. 5,000 users. Three people shipped what most funded teams can't.
Most AI projects never reach production. Only 13% do.
Most developers can't explain what their AI wrote.
Most vibe-coded MVPs break the moment real users touch them.
That's the gap I operate in.
